How do auctions work? Place a bid at or above the minimum. After the first bid, each new bid must beat the current price by the increment. You may bid again as often as you need while the auction is live — there is no round cap — up to 20 bids every 5 minutes. When time runs out, the highest valid bid wins. That opens a conversation at the winning price so you can agree on handover and pay the seller directly. If the winner does not arrange payment, the seller can offer the next bidder. Auctions also close on a server job, not only when someone opens the page.
What is a proxy bid? You can enter a maximum. mr.bid raises your public bid only as far as needed to stay ahead, up to that maximum. Other people see the current price, not your maximum.
Can I schedule an auction to start later? Yes. When you post an auction you can set a start date, up to 7 days from now. Leave it empty to start immediately. It stays scheduled until that time, then goes live.
What if an auction winner does not pay? The seller can mark the win unpaid and offer the next bidder. mr.bid does not collect or refund money.
Where are my bids? Open My bids from your account menu to see whether you are winning, outbid, or have won. Place a new bid from the listing if you were outbid.
What happens if someone bids at the last second? If a bid lands in the last few minutes, mr.bid can extend the end time so other bidders have a chance. That last-minute window is set by admin. The server clock is what counts, not the timer on your phone. If that bid extends the clock, the auction stays open — a close that was already in flight does not cut it off.
What does ending soon mean? Live auctions switch to ending soon in the last hour. The homepage rail is a live preview; View all auctions opens the full numbered Auctions list. The timer on the listing is confirmed on the server when you bid. Watchlist has an Ending soon tab.
Can I extend an auction? Yes, from the seller dashboard while it is live or ending soon. Enter extra hours. That moves the end time forward. Ended auctions cannot be extended.
How do I set when an auction ends? On the sell form, set an end date, or leave it empty and use duration in hours from the start time. Default duration is 72 hours. Start date empty means start now.
What is a reserved listing? Reserve from the seller dashboard when you are holding the item for someone. Buy Now, offers, and new bids are blocked until you unreserve. People can still see the listing and message you.
Is Watchlist Ending soon only the current All page? No. Ending soon is its own tab: watched auctions with status ending soon, newest saves first, then Older. All still shows the current mixed page. Saving is not a bid.
